About Us

Built for the Community.
By the Community.

Power Town CIC was established in July 2021 as a community-led organisation created to address barriers faced by young people and emerging creatives across Bristol and the South West.

Who We Are

Our journey began with a simple belief.

"Talent is everywhere, but opportunity is not."

The idea for Power Town began over 20 years ago in a youth group, where our founders saw how peers were left vulnerable to crime and disengagement because creative routes felt closed to them.

Today we provide a creative ecosystem giving young people and vulnerable adults access to professional facilities, mentorship, training, industry networks and safe spaces.

What Makes Us Different

Our values.

Six principles that shape every programme, every partnership and every decision we make.

Community First

Every decision starts with the question: does this serve our community?

Inclusive by Design

We remove financial, social and geographic barriers so creativity is for everyone.

Industry Standard

Professional environments and equipment from day one — Bristol's young creatives deserve world-class opportunities.

Trauma Informed

We understand and support the whole person, responding to challenges with care.

Real Pathways

Real skills, real mentors, real career pathways — using a "circle of influence" strategy to create lasting change.

Black-Led

Founded and led by people from the communities we serve.

The Power Town Family

Two organisations.
One shared purpose.

Two entirely separate, independently governed legal entities — sharing values and a commitment to Bristol's creative communities.
